Katie graduated from a small liberal arts college in Maine, where she was a Chemistry and Asian Studies major. After college, she taught English in Japan for 2 years in a small coastal town, where she realized her love of physical therapy and its unique role in improving people's quality of life without pharmaceuticals or surgeries. Since graduating from Emory University's Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program in 2022, she has been treating patients in the Blue Ridge area. She completed a fellowship in orthopedic manual therapy, obtaining FAAOMPT status in the spring of 2024. She started Carter Osteopractic with the goal of promoting the provision high-quality, one-on-one care and to spread awareness of the ability for DPTs to serve as ideal primary care providers for pain and neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction.
